Lots of Love~Thor short Story

"What was this midgard place we're going to again?"  Loki asked.

"Some place called a Pet Store, Jane said we will find a puppy for Darcy there." Thor said.

"If you ask me we could have just gotten her jewelry or something to do with dinosaurs." Loki said, as much as he loved Darcy, he didn't want to go to some place to help Thor pick out a puppy.

"I think this is the place," Thor said, "Shall we go in brother?"

"Oh you will go in but as for me I think I'll stay right where I am." Loki said with a smile.

"Your playing one of your tricks aren't you." Thor asked.

"Did you really think a leave Darcy alone on her birthday?" Loki said. Before Thor could respond Loki had already disappeared.

"Well all I need to do is pick out a puppy, how hard could that be?" Thor said to himself, little did he know what would be waiting for him inside the pet store.

When Thor walked in he noticed a young teenage girl at the front desk. "Excuse me miss, but would you kindly point me to the location of the puppies?" Thor asked with a smile. The girl looked up and almost had a heart-attack, after all it's not everyday you see Thor.

"Um down the hall and take a right." She said nervously.

Thor nodded his head and smiled before he headed down the hall. When he got to the puppy area a man stood there, he looked to be in his 20's, "Hello," He said, "Are you here to get a puppy?"

"Yes, I am. May I ask how I pick one out?" Thor asked.

"Oh well you go in this room," The man pointed to the large room, "And we bring in a few at a time and you can see which one you want, do have an idea what kind of dog you want?"

Thor remembered what Jane had told him, "Anything that's cute, but nothing small."

"So no lap dogs, ok sir go in there an I'll get some puppies." Thor went into the room and waited this shouldn't be too hard, he thought.

After about five minutes Thor saw the door open and out came 3 small puppies come in along with the man. "I said I didn't want small dogs." Thor said.

"Well sir they're small now but when they grow up they'll be larger dogs." The man said, "I'll go get some others."

Thor sat down with the 3 puppies in front of him, this wasn't so bad he thought as the puppies started to lick his face and whine. Thor heard the sound of the door open and 3 more puppies came in. "Hello there puppies, I am Thor Odinson and I am here to take one of you to a young woman by the name of Darcy. So who wants to come." Thor said.

All six puppies looked at him with confusion but then all six jumped into his lap. "I can't take all of you home." Thor said as he looked down at the puppies, who were looking up at him with pleading eyes. "This is harder then I thought." Thor said sadly as he looked at the puppies. One puppy of Thor's lap suddenly ran off of him and grabbed something in the corner of the room only to come and bring it back. It was a toy, "Is this for me?" Thor asked.

The puppy squeaked the toy in response. This squeak got the other puppies attention and they all ran off of Thor's lap, Thor got up to receive the toy but the puppy moved away from him in a playful jester. "You want to play a game I see." Thor said looking down at the puppy, "Alright puppy prepare to lose." Thor said with a smile, but as soon as he reached for the toy the puppy moved again but this time to the other side of the room.

Thor ran over to the puppy but once again the puppy moved. As Thor turned around to find the puppy the of 5 puppies ran over to him, Thor didn't want to step on them but trying to get through jumping puppies was almost impossible, so Thor slipped and fell. the five puppies that had been jumping on him were now on top of him trying to lick his face. "Out smarted by puppies, maybe it's good thing Loki didn't come I would never here the end of this one." Thor said. Just then the puppy that had the toy came over and dropped the toy in Thor's hand. Thor looked up and saw that this puppy was the one.

"Um are you ok sir?" Thor looked up to see the young man looking at him with a face that read confusion.

"Yes, and I believe I have made up my mind." Thor said trying to get up.

"Looks like the puppies fell asleep on you." The man said holding in a laugh. Thor laughed too while thinking, yep it's a very good thing Loki's not here.

In the end Thor had to lift each puppy off of him. He also picked out the puppy that played with him to be the one for Darcy. When he got back to Jane's house Jane was laughing as he walked in. "Whats so funny?" Thor asked.
"Oh nothing it's just that Darcy's going to love him." Jane said pointing to the puppy in Thor arms.

"She actually," Thor said correcting Jane, "Where is Darcy anyway?"

"Oh up stairs waiting for us, come on." Jane said holding out her hand.

When they got up there Jane started laughing again. "Your in good spirits, may I ask why?" Thor said, raising his eye brow.

"If I tell you, you might get mad." Jane said. When they reached the upstairs living room Loki and Darcy were playing some sort of game.

"Come on Loki, this isn't that hard!" Darcy said.

"Easy for you Darcy this so called: PAC-MAN is in no way easy to control." Darcy just laughed at him.

Jane cleared her throat which caused Loki and Darcy to turn around. "Happy Birthday Darcy!" Jane and Thor said at the same time.

"Awww! You got me a puppy!" Darcy said as she ran over to the puppy in Thor's arms.

"So you like her?" Jane asked.

"Like her? I love her!" Darcy said with excitement as Thor handed the puppy to her. "I'm going to call you Dino! Look Loki, Thor and Jane got me a husky puppy!"

"Indeed," Loki said with a smile, "So Thor how was looking at the puppies?"

"Well there were tons and it was hard to chose." Thor said.

"Really how about the part where you were out smarted by a simple puppy?" Loki said his grin bigger.

"How did you know about that?" Thor asked.

"Oh come on brother did you really think I had nothing to do with it?" It was then Loki changed his appearance to the man that was at the store.

"You set me up?" Thor said shocked.

"Really now brother," Loki said as he changed back to his normal form, "I would think after all these years you would have learned by now."

Thor now understand what Jane was laughing about, "You knew about this?"

"Maybe..." Jane said smiling.

"Did you know Darcy?" Thor asked.

"Well I was sort of the one who planed it." Darcy said hiding behind Loki. Great, Thor thought, they would never let him hear the end of this.

"Those puppies gave you lots of love didn't they?" Jane asked, still having a grin on her face.

"Yes, I hate to say it but I felt bad leaving them there." Thor said.

"Well my birthday's next month." Jane said with a wink.

"If you want a puppy your coming with me then." Thor said grinning at Jane.

"Oh I wouldn't want to make the puppies jealous, after all they all loved you."
